Pop-up Patch [Melb]

2 Sep

We really, really love discovering something new and exciting…and the Pop Up Patch at Federation Square does not disappoint.

What a brilliant concept! 140 Vegie Patches…in Fed Square… are up for grabs. It’s a place to seed & fertilse the inner Urban Farmer in each of us.

The vegie patches (crates) are available for 12 months. You can grow whatever vegies and herbs you want. And if you do not have a green thumb whatsoever, they (The Little Veggie Patch Co.) promise to offer a helping hand. The only catch is you cannot use chemicals on your patch. I think we can live with that.

Open from 6am to 10pm, 7 days a week, it means for those of you who work in the city, you can tend to your garden on the way to work and then pick some fresh produce for your dinner on your way home.

Why not share a patch with friends or keep it to yourself. Either way, it will prove to be a great community space, a place to meet new friends and learn how to live more sustainable.
